Grapple with Pauls formative writings on faith, love and creating a personal life of service.
Arguably, the 1st century apostle Paul had more to do with the formation of Christian theology than did the words or acts of Jesus. A brilliant poet, philosopher, preacher and constant traveler, Pauls words and ideas formed the basis of the early Church opinions which continue to haunt and inform us today. We will read The Acts of the Apostles (the second volume of Gospel writer Luke, who was Pauls physician and historian), along with many of Pauls letters to the emerging faith communities, and grapple with his formative writings in a personal and socially relevant way. Participants will deepen their understanding of themselves and of how early Christianity came into being.
Rev. David Wallace is an Interfaith minister and 2nd year dean for One Spirit Interfaith Seminary. He is a graduate of St. John’s College in Santa Fe, NM, and a lifelong student of the “great books” of philosophy and archetypal psychology. David teaches electives on the sacred texts of both the Eastern and Western traditions for One Spirit.
