Distance Learning
On-site and Distance Learning Available

With recent enhancements in communication technology, One Spirit is able to offer a variety of options for remote connection between attending and distance learning students, with program faculty and coursework, and with their individual counseling clients, counselors and supervisors.

Distance learning students have two options for this program.

  • Webinar – students log into the class through their computer.  They are able to listen to the class and participate in real time.
  • Audio Books - Class sessions held in New York are recorded and posted on a dedicated Interspiritual Spiritual Counseling class website via audiobook. Students can download audiobooks, handouts and supporting materials from each class. Please be aware that his requires setting aside a committed 12 hours of listening time for a Saturday & Sunday class each month.

The distance learning experience is enhanced by participation on the dedicated website, chatting with fellow students about class work and being involved in this community.  Participation broadens the program experience and allows attending and distance learning students to get to know each other, thus deepening the experience of the One Spirit community.

Distance learning students are also supported by monthly conference calls moderated by the teaching staff and assistants.   These calls allow for group sharing and foster time for students to voice their questions and concerns. In semester A, all students including distance learners participate in study groups, either in person with other students in their region or via conference calls and online chats.

When meetings in person are not a possibility, supervision, individual spiritual counseling, and spiritual counseling practice sessions have shown to be greatly enhanced by the use of face-to-face technologies such as Skype and iChat. Use of these resources is highly recommended, but not required.
